A spin-off of the acclaimed TV series Le Bureau des légendes.

Following the sabotage of a weapon factory in Serbia by the men the General Directorate for External Security (DGSE), French intelligence services are convinced that the jihadist group AQIM is preparing a major attack in Mali. The situation is particularly worrying because, several months earlier, a young agent nicknamed Canaque, succeeded in infiltrating the terrorist organization. For security reasons, as well as to preserve France's diplomatic relations with Africa, Canaque cannot take part in an attack. DGSE has no choice but to exfiltrate Canaque. A perilous mission, which he decides to entrust to their best men.

- The rights of the TV series Le Bureau des légendes have been bought by George Clooney for a US remake.
- The book focuses on different characters than the TV series, so it can be read without watching it.
