THE ENCHANTER

STEPHEN CARRIERE

An unforgettable band of teenagers decides to throw a challenge to death. And it took on it.

Stan is the high school "enchanter": he excels in solving the academic, family or sentimental setbacks of his classmates, thanks to an unparalleled inventiveness and at the cost of many arrangements with the truth.
He is surrounded by an intricate band of friends: Daniel, who is a little gifted, round and bald like an egg
Jenny, a beautiful, mute boxer
David, a frail young man struggling with a depressed mother
and Moh, a complex beanpole, a Shakespeare fanatic, and the narrator of the book.
As the school year begins, a series of mysterious crimes bloody their city, set against an already highly tense atmosphere.
Stan, Jenny, David, Daniel and Moh pay little attention to it. They have a big project, so crazy and ambitious that they call it "the miracle". They have nine months left to complete it. Daniel is suffering from terminal cancer and has commissioned the Enchanter's masterpiece to transform his death into a spectacle so grandiose that he will offer him a little immortality.
But in the city centre's alleys, between the towers, in the parks and on the banks of the river, an old and fierce Evil spreads. People start talking about monsters and black magic. A gap has opened in the fabric of reality, and even if they would rather ignore it, our heroes may be more involved than they think.
