Yzé

Anne-Marie POL

Yzé, a young 17-year-old West Indian girl, dreams of becoming a ballerina, like her role-model Misty Copeland.

Aware that everything is played out in Metropolitan France, Yzé wants to see more than her island, and dreams about the Opera in Paris! She takes her chances, and wins a competition that enables her to fly to Paris, the capital of dance, and to follow the courses of famous teachers.
But Yzé did not expect what she discovers. Soon, between racism and low blows, she feels more isolated than ever. She also didn't expect to meet Michael, a young dancer who is seriously ill and who will upset her plans and her vision of dance and life. Determined to prove herself and impose her style, will the teenager have the opportunity to shine?

- An inspiring tale of a talented young dancer's rise from the West Indies to Paris.
