The story begins with Bold, the reader's favorite character from Beyond the Edge. He is a young sailor eager to prove himself, whose confidence is

The story alternates with the story of Blake's childhood, and his abusive father. Determined to take over the ship when his father dies, Blake will have to prove himself, fortunately, with Bold, Doc and Glenn by his side. To ensure his reputation as well as the loyalty of his crew, he sets out to conquer a treasure reputed to be inaccessible and meets Al, the wizard of the winds, who will help him in this quest.
