Pierre-Marie Sotto was awarded the Goncourt Prize some years ago but is now suffering from writers block. This is when he receives a large envelope with only an e-mail address written on it. Assuming its a manuscript and unwilling to give his opinion on someone elses work, he tries to know where he could send this back.
Thus begins a correspondence with Adeline Parmelan, a tall big brunette who says she isnt a reader like others. They slowly get to know each other through their computer screens revealing their pasts, their lives, their hopes and dreams.
In the meantime, the envelope is left untouched and soon Adeline doesnt want Pierre-Marie to open it Who knows where this could lead them?
- Everything started as a game between the authors. Jean-Claude Mourlevat sent the first E Mail as Pierre-Marie Sotto to Anne-Laure Bondoux and the book is the correspondence that followed.
Jean-Claude Mourlevat has published thirty or so children books. The rights of his novels have been sold in twenty countries.
Anne-Laure Bondoux is an actress, journalist and author. She has written a dozen of children books and she has been awarded several times in France and abroad.
"I read Shall We Dance, and I fell in love. The book is funny, witty, touching and engrossing at the same time. I love the characters (all of them!) and I'm sure our readers will love the book as much as I did." Bettina Woergoetter, Zsolnay
"I really feel this book is a little gem. For me it's been like a revelation, since I started reading in the middle of a busy morning at the office and, despite all the fuss and urgencies around me, I was totally carried away by the story, by these two incredible characters who made me completely forget the world. And it's been quite a while since I had this wonderful feeling and so, I would be more than honored to be Jean-Claude and Anne- Laure's publisher in Spain."
