Paris, 1624. Milady - who is not yet the schemer we know - arrives in France to open a tea store under the name of Christabel Doncaster. Behind this façade, Christabel is building her reputation as an amateur detective, always ready to do a favor if it opens the door to power. She agrees to take the case of young Aude de Mantégnac, and to investigate thefts happening in her family castle. A few days after Milady's arrival at the castle, a crime is committed in a closed room. The victim is Aude's cousin, whose dead body is found on a bed of black tulips. Milady will have to do her best to prove her talents.
