The Vestibule of Lost Causes

Manon Moreau

On the way to Santiago de Compostela...

It is the story of Mara, of Robert, of Seven Leagues, of Henrique, of Bruce, of Clotilde, of this man called The Breton, of Flora and of Árpád. A retiree, a guitar player, a cow-boy, an exegete of Claude Simon, a scrawny brunette, a man of few words, a tired and privileged woman, a guy who became life's punching ball. It is the story of people who, in their urban lives, had no chance to cross each other's paths but who, one day, put on big shoes, a backpack and headed for the outer limits of Spain, at the end of the world, at the end of Europe: Santiago de Compostela. They have yet to learn that this path as old as tales take those who walk on it much farther than what they could imagine.
A moving novel carried by its endearing characters who, even though they have nothing in common, will, through the way, learn to know each other and discover oneself.

The Vestibule of Lost Causes is Manon Moreau's first novel and takes inspiration from her experiences on the way to Santiago de Compostela.
