During a terrible fire, Mathieu lost his parents. When a family photo album mysteriously reappears years later, his life will be shattered again.

Mathieu is 6 years old when his parents died in the fire of their house. Together with his mother, a bohemian Norwegian heiress to a great fortune, and his artist-painter father, they lived in a manor. When they died, he was rescued by his uncle and aunt. Now 48, he lives with Anna, and her daughter Laurie.
One day, a woman drops a photo album at second-hand shop he owns. In the photos, he recognizes his family. He is shocked as everything was supposed to have burned.
The same night, a team of burglars enters his warehouse but nothing is stolen. The day after, they go to his home, find nothing and set it on fire before fleeing. Mat is devastated. Is his life threatened? What are they coming for?
When Mat recognizes the silhouette of his mother in the last photo of the album, taken after the death of his parents, his world is upside down. She did not die in the fire after all. Nothing makes sense anymore. What happened 40 years ago? Who is lying? He is now well decided to find out the truth, no matter what.

- A fast paced noir taking the reader from Paris to Brittany and all the way to Norway.
- When everybody seems to have lied, to whom one can turn?
