Away from the city, in the countryside, three children are living with their father on an estate called the Kingdom. Then one morning, the sun doesn't
rise and at nine o' clock, it's still dark. However, it's not night that has fallen, but an ominous cloud, heavy, oppressive and cold, that has covered the sky. It is almost sheer darkness. The inhabitants of the house: three children aged 7, 12 and 17 and their father are puzzled by what's happening. Forced to organize themselves to survive in this new environment, the family decides to take a trip into town to pick up some food from the supermarket before the looters get to them. Although the operation is a success, their father disappears shortly after. Left to their own devices, the children face
many threats: their neighbor, René Grivel, a crazed Nazi, wanting to seize their possessions, wild beasts prowling around the house and a pack of rabid dogs chasing them...
In this hostile world, who can you trust and how can children survive?
