1898, Paris and the whole of France is divided by the Dreyfuss Affair. Victor Legris finds himself in the mist of a strange puzzle: why are booksellers and regular visitor of the Quai Voltaire killed? And to who belong the brown shoes?

Claude Izner is the pen name of two sisters, Liliane Korb and Laurence Lefèvre, who are both second-hand booksellers along the Seine.
