MYSTERIES IN PARIS

The Little Man of the Opera

Claude Izner

Paris, at the end of the 19th Century. Victor Legris is in his 30's and works as a bookseller. He regularly finds himself confronted with mysteries and that's good luck because he loves acting as a detective.

Spring 1897: An elderly lady is assassinated at the gates of Paris. Musicians, the stage manager of the Opera Garnier, and members of the dance foyer are, one after the other, victims of fatal accidents.
Victor Legris becomes quite intrigued by this series of murders. His investigation will lead him from the backstage of the Garnier Palace to the colorful world of the carnies set up at a major amusement park, through the catacombs and over to the ancient thermal park in Passy.

Claude Izner is the pen name of two sisters, Liliane Korb and Laurence Lefèvre, who are both second-hand booksellers along the Seine.
