Christian Heinrich was born in 1965 in Sélestat, a small Alsatian town. A graduate of the Strasbourg School of Decorative Arts, he first travelled with his pencils in the margins of notebooks and then to different countries with his sketchbooks and watercolours. He became an illustrator of books for children with L'arbre qui chante (B. Clavel, Albin Michel) and Les yeux du dragon (S. King, PKJ).
